The Oxford Book of Choral Music by Black Composers is a landmark collection of non-idiomatic compositions from the sixteenth century to the present day, providing a comprehensive introduction to an area of choral music that has been historically under-represented. This unique anthology seeks both to improve representation in the historical canon and to showcase the music of some of the best names in choral music today.

Recenzijos

This expansive collection is both historical and impressively up to the present moment. [ ...] The 35 pieces are all supported by a comprehensive commentary which will surely spark interest in exploring further works by the featured composers and also by other Black composers. Whether used as a teaching resource or for performance, it should expand imaginations and start to address the lack of representation of Black composers in the choral canon. Equally important, there is some stunning music to sing which will be enjoyed by youth and adult choirs alike. * Joy Hill, Choir & Organ, May 2023 *
