Straw Houses includes several seemingly ordinary yet touching stories, all told and presented through the boy Sang Sangs point of view. They reveal not only the touching moments of human life, but also Sang Sangs inner psychology. Here in this book are only two chapters from the original novel.
Set in the early 1960s in the area south of the Yangtze River, Straw Houses is told in a language that highlights simplicity and serenity.
