DƤmonenglaube, Besessenheit und Exorzismen erscheinen uns exotisch und fremd. Und doch begegnen sie in nahezu allen Kulturen und zu allen historisch greifbaren Zeiten. Sie scheinen eng verbunden mit dem Menschsein. Es ist daher lohnend, die anthropologischen Dimensionen des DƤmonenglaubens zu beleuchten. Die BeitrƤge des vorliegenden Bandes fragen daher stets nach der Bedeutung von DƤmonenglaube und Besessenheit fĆ¼r den Menschen. Der Band bildet zusammen mit dem Themen-Heft Ā»DƤmonenĀ« (4/2022) der Ā»Ć–kumenischen RundschauĀ« den Ertrag einer Tagung ab, die im Oktober 2021 am Institut fĆ¼r Evangelische Theologie und ReligionspƤdagogik der Carl-von-Ossietzky-UniversitƤt Oldenburg stattfand. Die BeitrƤge wurden von Vertretern aller theologischen Disziplinen sowie der Religionswissenschaft und der Anglistik verfasst.[ Anthropological Dimensions of Demon Belief]Demon belief, possession and exorcisms seem exotic and foreign to us. And yet they are encountered in almost all cultures and at all historically tangible times. They seem closely connected to being human. It is therefore worthwhile to shed light on the anthropological dimensions of demon belief. The contributions in this volume therefore ask constantly about the significance of demon belief and possession for human beings. Together with the thematic issue Ā»DemonsĀ« (4/2022) of the Ā»Ć–kumenische RundschauĀ«, this volume presents the results of a conference held in October 2021 at the Institute for Protestant Theology and Religious Education at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg. The contributions were written by representatives of all theological disciplines as well as of religious studies and of English studies.
