Saxena, H.P. Pati, and M. Mahapatra (all hematology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi) offer representative clinical photographs and microphotographs of some of the commonly seen hematological disorders. They intend the atlas to be useful for practicing or student pediatricians, internists, and pathologists practicing hematology, especially in centers where many of the lesions illustrated are not commonly seen. It covers anemias, bone marrow failure syndromes, hemolytic anemias, disorders of platelets, acute and chronic leukemia, myelofibrosis, plasma cell dyscrasias, infections, and stem cell transplant. The photographs are large, highly colored, and of a high enough quality that much detail is visible. Annotation ©2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
