Volume two of the Dear Grandmother portion of diaries kept by a clan of the Bickersteth family during World War II. While the first volume started from the outbreak of hostilities in Europe in 1939, this one covers the remainder of the war up to the Japanese surrender in August 1945. This series represents only a fraction of the war diaries in their entirety and was heavily scored with family member Burgon's post-war red and blue pencil margin comments and numerous handwritten letters, photographs, pamphlets and newspaper cuttings.
