Dr. Emily Bell (foreword) is a Dickens expert, editor and biographer. She was the first Communications Committee Chair of the international Dickens Society, and has published on Dickens, life writing and commemoration. Dr. Bell edited Dickens after Dickens for White Rose University Press, a volume of new research analysing Dickens's legacy in unconventional forms. She is a member of the board of the Oxford Dickens series, and is currently editing Dickenss later short fiction for this series. Dr. Bell also acts as editor for the Dickens Letters Project, and has a new biography of Dickens forthcoming.
