This book brings together current perspectives and up-to-date research on vocabulary teaching and the learning of a foreign or second language. Dr Nuray Alagözlü is a Professor of Linguistics at the Faculty of Education at Hacettepe University, Turkey. She holds an MA in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Bilkent University, Turkey, and a doctoral degree in Linguistics from Hacettepe University, Ankara. She has spent time as a Visiting Research Scholar at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, and at the Center for Studies of the Multicultural Society of Tilburg University, the Netherlands. Her research interests are all aspects of language use as they relate to society, language education, and language teacher education. Vedat Kiymazarslan, MA, MD, is a retired colonel of the Turkish Armed Forces with about three decades of active service as an EFL teacher, ELT specialist and applied linguist. He holds a BA and an MA in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Gazi University, Turkey, and an MA in Educational Management and Supervision from International Ahmet Yesevi University, Turkey. He has been a teacher of English for more than 28 years at the Turkish Military Academy and various military high schools and institutions. His interests include psycholinguistics, comprehension-based language learning and teaching, designing and developing e-learning and e-teaching apps, English for Specific Purposes, lexicology, computational linguistics, and L2 classroom management techniques.
