Louisa May Alcott was a 19th-century American novelist best known for her novel, Little Women, as well as its well-loved sequels, Little Men and Jo's Boys. Little Women is renowned as one of the very first classics of childrens literature, and remains a popular masterpiece today.



Frances Hodgson Burnett (18491924) was an English-American author and playwright. She is best known for her incredibly popular novels for children, including Little Lord Fauntleroy, A Little Princess, and The Secret Garden.



Sarah Webb is a writer and former childrens bookseller, and is currently the childrens reviewer for the Irish Independent as well as being on the board of Children's Books Ireland, while being active in events and festivals.



Since having her first book accepted for publication at the age of twelve, Harriet Castor has written over forty fiction and non-fiction books for children and young adults. She has a History degree from Cambridge University and has worked at The Royal Ballet as a dance notator. Now she writes full time.
