Electromagnetic Nondestructive Evaluation, No. 5
Contains a selection of 45 papers presented at the Budapest, Hungary workshop of the same name in June of 2000. Emphasizing both basic science and engineering developments in the field, the papers address the broad topics of direct problems, inverse problems, novel nondestructive evaluation techniques, evaluation of material properties and microstructure, and benchmark problems. Examples of specific topics include finite element analysis of pulsed eddy current testing, crack reconstruction in ferromagnetic materials using nonlinear FEM-BEM scheme and neural networks, application of virtual plant concept for prevention and prediction of accidents in nuclear power plants, micromagnetic investigation of austenitic stainless steel using a GMR-sensor, and performance analysis of the fluxset based ECT probe on JSAEM Inconel 600 benchmark tube specimens.
