The 8th edition brings the book up to date on multiple fronts. Almost every chapter contains new note cases from both the Supreme Court and the lower courts, as well as discussions of the most recent scholarly articles on topics in federal courts. Four new principal cases have been added, including the latest Supreme Court cases on standing, congressional control over jurisdiction, and the reach of federal-question jurisdiction. The section on standing has been reorganized to make it clearer and easier to teach, and an introductory overview has been added to the chapter on removal jurisdiction and procedure.
