This highly illustrated, practical guide contains comprehensive coverage of all the important factors for clinical diagnosis with flow cytometry. It explains the general parameters and correlation with color histomorphological findings throughout, taking a systematic approach from basic cases to complicated problem areas. Hematopathologists and neoplastic hematologists will find this book an important resource for keeping up to date with developments in clinical practice. This second edition includes a chapter on antigen expression during myeloid and lymphoid differentiation.

Recenzijos

"This is a beautiful book. The color figures incorporate multicolor flow cytometry scatterplots next to faithful color H&E or Wright-Giemsa stained bone marrow biopsies or aspirate smears... The text is concise, with the majority of the book devoted to illustrative figures. I really like the juxtaposition of scattergrams with histological photomicrographs to emphasize the added value (and pitfalls to avoid) of flow cytometric immunophenotyping. Necessary molecular studies are mentioned or depicted (i.e., FISH, karyotypes) where appropriate... Also very helpful are diagnostic algorithms in many of the chapters. The references are exhaustive." Doody's Review, 2010

Review of the 1st edition:

The Flow Cytometry in Neoplastic Hematology by W. Gorczyca is a highly comprehensive textbook in which the author provides the classical histopathological images and their quantitative examination by cytometry side by side. This side-by-side comparison is a unique feature, because most textbooks deal either with morphology or with cytometry, not with both at the same time, without correlations. The images are excellent examples of clinical entities presented in the text. Flow cytometry is presented in a very concise and straightforward mode..Overall, the book is the one every pathologist would like to have in her or his library as a reference and a guide .The book is superbly written and composed and it is a valuable tool for pathologists and pathology residents as well. It complements the earlier book by the same author, An Atlas of Differential Diagnosis in Neoplastic Hematopathology
