The book is a collection of academician Yanzhong Zhang’s research papers published in English. It represents the development of aerospace systems engineering and information technology in China over the past 4 decades. Regarded as the crucial reference materials of related disciplines, it falls into three categories, namely, information technique, aeronautical engineering strategy issue of development, as well as PhD thesis.

Prof. Yanzhong Zhang is an expert of aeronautical system engineering and signal processing. Mr. Zhang was born in Shaanxi Province, China. He graduated from Northwestern University in 1962. In 1981, he went to Trinity College, University of Cambridge, U.K. to study signal processing, and received a Ph.D. degree in 1984. Prof. Zhang was elected as an academician of CAE (Chinese Academy of Engineering) in 2001, afterwards, the head of the Division of Mechanical & Vehicle Engineering, and a board director of CAE. He was appointed as a professor of Beijing University of Aeronautic & Astronautics in 1986, a visiting professor at the University of Sydney in 1989, an honorary professor for Technical University of Macau in 2009, the honorary president of the US Sound & Vibration Institute in 2013, and a Qiushi Chair Professor of Zhejiang University in 2016. Prof. Zhang has been involved in the fields of mechanicalvibration, acoustic, signal processing and aeronautical engineering for about 60 years. He received 2 international awards and more than 11 national and ministerial awards. Plus, he has published 12 books, an English Chinese dictionary, and more than 200 papers. Dr. Zhang used to be a chief engineer of the Ministry of Aviation Industry and the Ministry of Aero-Space Industry, president of Chinese Aeronautical Establishment, president of China Aviation Industry Cooperation II (AVIC II), and CEO & Chairman of board of directors for AviChina. At present, he is the head of expert group for COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd.). Prof. Zhang has been a council member of the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences (ICAS), and was the chairman of the organizing committee for the 18th congress of ICAS. He used to be president of Chinese Society of Signal Processing, vice president for Chinese Society of Aeronautics & Astronautics, and vice president for Vibration Engineering Society, etc.
