Dr. Ajay Chourasia is a Chief Scientist & Head of Structural Engineering and 3D Concrete Printing Group at CSIR-Central Building Research Institute, Roorkee. He did Ph.D. (Structural Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. The topic of his research was Performance Evaluation of Confined Masonry Buildings under Cyclic Lateral Loads. His area of interest encompasses precast buildings, structural dynamics, structural health monitoring; experimental investigation of buildings; earthquake resistant design, construction & retrofit confined masonry, seismic vulnerability/ post-earthquake damage assessment, precast buildings, 3D concrete printing, numerical analysis, historical construction etc. He has published more than 200 papers in International and National Journals/Conferences, more than 150 reports and 12 books on Earthquake Resistant Design & Construction, Guidelines for Confined Masonry. He has filed 5 Indian patents and 5 technologies transferred to the industry. He is a Member of Building Committee at several Institutes; Post-Earthquake Reconnaissance Team, NDMA, and Bureau of Indian Standard. He is a Member of ISET, ICI, IE (I) and several other professional bodies. He was Secretary of ISET Journal for the year 2013-2017 and recipient of several honours & awards for the R&D and technology development.
Prof. (Dr.) Madhuri Kumari received her PhD from The Energy Resource Institute (TERI) for her work on geostatistical modeling for prediction of rainfall in Indian Himalayas. She completed her M.Tech in Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering from Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University and B.E in Civil Engineering from Andhra University and was awarded Gold Medal. She is working as Professor in Department of Civil Engineering, Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, U.P. She has vast industry experience of 11 years and academic experience of around 14 years. Her research interests include technological advances like AI, ML, Digital Twin, data analytics, GIS & Remote Sensing for solving civil engineering problems. She has been editor of three books published by Springer . She has worked as Co-PI for MoEF&CC funded project on spatial decision support system for River Yamuna. She has worked as governing council member of Indian Building Congress. She is registered Professional Engineer, Engineers Council of India. She is member of several professional bodies like IEEE, Institution of Engineering and Technology(IET,UK), ISTE, Indian Society of Hydrologist, Indian Geotechnical Society, Indian Building Congress, Women in Science and Engineering (WISE India). She is serving as Hon. Secretary of WISE India. She has attended several conferences, published technical papers and delivered talks in the field of civil engineering.
Dr. R. Siva Chidambaram received Masters in Structural Engineering from Institute of Road and Transport
Technology and Ph.D (Earthquake Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR), Roorkee. Currently working as Senior Scientist in CSIR-Central Building Research Institute, Roorkee. His primary R&D interest are inelastic behavior of Precast, RC and CFST Structures, Repair and Retrofitting, Make Shift Structures, High Performance materials, Rebar Couplers, Textile reinforcement, Corrosion etc. He has more than 50 publications to his credit which include research papers, book chapters, and Patent. He has developed the concept of Geo-grid confinement in RC Structural Elements. He is recipient of Best Technology Award for the year 2020 for rebar coupler and 2021 for Foldable Shelter. Recipient of Gold and Silver Award from CII, Emerging Research Award and many best paper awards.
Dr. Shilpa Pal, born in 1981 has done her B.E. from T.I.E.T, Patiala, M. E. (Gold Medalist) in Structural Engineering from Punjab University, Chandigarh and Ph.D. in Earthquake Engineering from IIT Roorkee. She is presently working as Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Delhi Technological University, Delhi and has more than 14 years of teaching experience. She is actively involved in research and consultancy works. Her areas of interest are 2-D & 3-D Seismic Analysis of Dams and Seismic Slope Stability Analysis, Landslide hazard, vulnerability and risk studies, Damage detection in Buildings, Self bacterial concrete. She is the member of various Institutional Bodies namely IAStructE, ISET, IoE, ISCMS, ICI, SCRS.
