This book focuses on understanding Earths geology, its mineral resources, their exploration, and management of the environment. There are 3 parts and 12 chapters, and they provide an insight to the students of earth sciences. Part I, consisting of initial four chapters, provides snapshots on the Universe, the Earth, and its internal dynamics, and external geological processes. The mineral resources are covered in Part II with 5 chapters, featuring Earths elements, metals, minerals, rocks, and the mineral resources. As they are non-renewable, the importance of their scientific exploration, evaluation, mining, beneficiation, optimum utilization, and adverse impact, safety management, and environment are covered in the last 3 chapters in Part III.
Part I: Universe, Planet Earth, and its systems.- Chapter 1: Solar
System and the Earth.
Chapter 2: Geology: Study of the Earth.
Chapter 3:
Earth's Internal Dynamics and Landforms.
Chapter 4: External Geological
Agents of Earth.- Part II: Mineral Resources.- Chapter 5: Metals and
Minerals.
Chapter 6: Rocks and their Formation.
Chapter 7: Mineral
Deposits.
Chapter 8: Metallic Minerals and their Deposits.
Chapter 9:
Non-Metallic Minerals and their deposits.- Part III: Mineral Exploration and
Resource Management.-
Chapter 10: Exploration of Mineral Resources.
Chapter
11: Evaluation of Mineral Deposits.
Chapter 12: Mining, Mineral
Beneficiation and Environment.
