This guide explains the rationale and benefits of Book Hooks, gives ideas for sharing Book Hooks in the library and the classroom using low-tech and high-tech methods, and presents ideas for workshop activities for English and language arts classes. There is special emphasis on teaching students terms they can use for describing books. Appendices and the CD-ROM offer reproducibles, glossaries, handouts, worksheets, examples of Book Hooks, and a Book Hook rubric. The CD-ROM also offers proposal worksheets and Excel spreadsheets.
