This book is a complete and compact manual on the radiographic testing. It covers every aspect of the test method including radiation safety and its modern techniques. Dr. Paresh R. Vaidya has worked with the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in the Department of Atomic Energy of India. He has a bachelor's degree in Physics (Honors) from Gujarat University and masters and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Bombay. His main area of work was the quality assurance of nuclear reactor fuels and has also supervised NDT of the systems in the nuclear reactor projects. He has specialized in radiography and radiometry. Dr. Vaidya has a good body of research work in the advanced areas of X-ray radiography, X-ray detection, and measurement of focal spot sizes and has over 75 national/ international publications. He has contributed to the drafting and evaluation of Indian Standards on Radiography for the Bureau of Indian Standard. The author has received Ron Halmshaw Award of the British Institute of NDT (BINDT), NDT Man of the Year from Indian Society for NDT (ISNT) and the Achievement Award (R&D) of ISNT Mumbai Chapter, R G Deshpande Award from National Association for Application of Radiation and radioisotope in Industry (NAARRI) for propagating the use of radiation, and an Excellence Award from the Departmental of Atomic Energy, India. He is the peer-reviewer for journals of national and international repute.
