Teaching and Teacher Education: Developing Teacher Competencies for Interdisciplinary Instruction introduces interdisciplinary education to teachers and teacher educators.

Through theories and in the current context of schools and curriculum needs, Interdisciplinary Teaching and Teacher Education: Developing Teacher Competencies for Interdisciplinary Instruction introduces interdisciplinary education to teachers and teacher educators. Examples of the method at the elementary school are presented in the form of a university course and in-service teachers who have used the method for many years. The book ends with examples of the method at the secondary level in the form of classroom practice and a university teacher education course.

Recenzijos

Interdisciplinary Teaching and Teacher Education: Developing Teacher Competencies for Interdisciplinary Instruction is integral to unlocking the learning potential of education. This book illuminates the importance of integrating multiple subjects while enriching education, fostering creativity, and preparing students for an intricate world. A must-read for educators committed to inspiring holistic understanding and innovative thinking. -- A. Siverson, M.S. Ed, third grade teacher As a social studies teacher for over 30 years, I agree with the approach outlined in Interdisciplinary Teaching and Teacher Education. The social studies department can be a leader in secondary interdisciplinary education. -- Dave Osis, M.A, social studies teacher The editors have harnessed the expertise of established educators to create a compelling argument that effective interdisciplinary education is not only possible, but can be realized with the tools already available. Those wishing to move their districts curriculum in this direction will find this a useful resource. -- Robert O'Dell, executive director of New Jersey Center for Civic Education
