He also meets Jemima the pig: she smells and she slobbers, she breaks out of her pen to steal potatoes, and shes the undisputed queen of the farm. Soon, hes hiding acorns in his pockets to feed to her every time he sees her. But then, Jemima starts to feel ill. Could she have eaten too many acorns? Or does this queen of a pig have a secret?

Sir Michael Morpurgo OBE FRSL FKC DL is a writer, playwright, performer and librettist. The author of more than 150 childrens books, he has sold over 35 million copies worldwide and in almost 40 languages. A former teacher and vocal spokesperson for the benefits of reading for pleasure, he is currently the President of Book Trust. Between 20032005 he was Childrens Laureate and in 2018 he was knighted for services to literature and charity.
