The book provides a comprehensive introduction to ambiguous set theory, offering readers a clear understanding of the fundamental concepts and principles underlying this intriguing branch of mathematics. It explores the historical development of ambiguous set theory, tracing its roots and evolution over time. Readers are introduced to the foundational principles of ambiguous set theory, including its axioms, definitions, and basic theorems. Through concrete examples and case studies, the book demonstrates the practical applications of ambiguous set theory across various disciplines, and applications of ambiguous set theory in decision-making, control systems, and medical imaging. It is designed to be approachable for readers with varying levels of mathematical background, making it suitable for students, researchers, and enthusiasts alike.
Pritpal Singh received the Ph.D. degree in computer science and engineering from Tezpur (Central) University, Tezpur, India, in February 2015. He worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Taipei University of Technology, New Taipei, Taiwan, and the Adjunct Professor (Research) with the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland. He is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Data Science and Analytics, Central University of Rajasthan, Ajmer, India. He has published numerous papers in refereed SCI (Science Citation Index) journals, conference proceedings, book chapters, and books. His research interests include ambiguous set theory, optimization algorithms (especially quantum-based optimization), time series forecasting, image analysis, fMRI (functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging) data analysis, machine learning, and mathematical modelling and simulation.Dr Singh has been awarded a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan, in March 2019. He also received the prestigious International Visiting Research Fellowship from the Foundation for Polish Science, Poland, in 2020. He has been continuously listed among the world's top 2% of scientists in 2023 and 2024.
