1. Kokin Wakash (hereinafter referred to as Kokin) is the second volume and collection of songs after the Ten Thousand Leaves Collection. It is Japan's first volume and collection of songs written under orders of the Emperor and can be called the Japanese version of The Book of Songs.2. More than 1,100 wakash songs are selected and included in the book, which shows that the songs are highly mature in art and form a slim, graceful, romantic and aesthetic "e;ancient and modern style"e; that is totally different from Ten Thousand Leaves, laying the foundation for later Makash Written by Emperor Order.3. The preface to Kokin Wakash marks the formation of the wakash theory. Kokin Wakash, together with Ten Thousand Leaves and New Kokin Wakash, are the three most important classical wakash collections recognized in the history of Japanese literature.4. The content of Kokin Wakash is aristocratic, and its style has become fine and beautiful. At the same time, it has the lingering charm of Ten Thousand Leaves. Of the 1,100 songs in 20 volumes of Kokin Wakash, love songs account for 360 songs in 5 volumes, which is nearly one third of the total number of songs. The 20-volume Kokin Wakash includes songs by about 130 people. There are 1,100 songs, 5 from Long song, 4 from Xuan song, and the rest are all short songs. It is divided into spring, summer, autumn, winter, greetings, parting, traveling, name of things, love, sadness, miscellaneous songs, miscellaneous songs (Long song, Xuantou songs, Feixie songs), royal songs, divine music songs, etc.5. The translation has a complete set of references, including: Yanbo Library Japanese Classics: Kokin Wakash (noted by Zuobo Meiyou, edition of the 33rd Zhaohe period); New Japanese Literature Work: Wakash (noted by Xiaodao Xianzhi, Xinjing Rongzang, published in 1989, Yanbo Library); New Trend Library's Japanese New Trend Literature: Kokin Wakash (Noted by Aocun Hengzai, New Trend Library, 53rd year of Zhaohe period); Primary School Library's A New Series of Japanese Literature (noted by Xiaoze Zhengfu, Songtian Chengsui, 1994 edition). They are almost the most complete editions in society.6. The translation adopts three sentences of "e;57 tones"e;, which are different from previous versions, in a pioneering way.
