The microneedle field has been expanding exponentially with innovative designs and various applications, thus capturing the interest of academic industry and regulatory sectors.

Microneedles: The Future of Drug Delivery equips readers with a comprehensive understanding of microneedles: from percutaneous absorption to microneedles production, characterization, applications in drug delivery and diagnosis, to practical perspectives on the development, manufacturing, regulatory issues, and commercialization of microneedles. This book is written by a single author and thus provides complex information in a simple, elegant, and cohesive style.

The book is intended for graduate students, researchers, scientists, and engineers working in the pharmaceutical, medical, cosmeceutical, and biotechnology industry.

Hiep X. Nguyen, Ph.D., currently holds a Scientist I position at American Regent, Inc., Ohio, USA. Dr. Nguyen also serves as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of an international company, Novoremedy. He has many years of industry experience developing various pharmaceutical products, i.e., topical semisolids, transdermal patches, and injectable products. His research expertise covers the design, fabrication, characterization, and applications of conventional and innovative drug delivery systems and technologies in pharmaceutical sciences for various therapeutic agents (i.e., small molecules, macromolecules, and particulate drug delivery systems). He earned a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Mercer University, Atlanta, Georgia, USA, a Degree of Pharmacist from Hanoi University of Pharmacy, Hanoi, Vietnam, and a Distinguished Toastmaster from Toastmaster International, USA. Dr. Nguyen was honored with Phi Kappa Phi, Rho Chi, and Sigma Xi awards during his graduate term at Mercer University. He is also the Co-Director of the Vietnamese Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. He is currently co-advisor to one Ph.D. student and has graduated one Ph.D. student under his guidance. To date, Dr. Nguyen has published over 21 peer-reviewed journal articles in prestige journals (i.e., Journal of Controlled Release, European Journal of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Research, etc.) and four book chapters to his name. He also has several podium and poster presentations at multiple international, national, and regional conferences, with over 34 scientific abstracts to his credit. Dr. Nguyen currently serves on the Editorial Board of a pharmacy journal and as a referee for over seven drug delivery journals. He won the Hewitt T. Matthews Award (2018), the Monroe F. Swilley, Jr. Award (2018), and many other awards.
