Minimally Invasive Approaches to the Spine is a beautifully illustrated atlas describing the 18 most widely accepted minimally invasive procedures in spine surgery. Written by leaders in both neurologic and orthopedic spine surgery, this book offers the most up-to-date material and the broadest perspective on the subject. Procedures range from simple to complex and cover the cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions of the spine.

Over the past 5 years major technical advances have influenced the rapidly growing area of minimally invasive spine surgery. New instrumentation and techniques are being developed to permit an increasing number of spine problems to be treated with less invasive corrective procedures. Minimally Invasive Approaches to the Spine is an atlas describing the 18 most widely accepted minimally invasive spine procedures and the relevant anatomy, as it appears through the scope. The editors and authors include the neurologic and orthopedic spine surgeons who initially developed these techniques, and the list includes the biggest names in spine surgery today. Each chapter will cover indications/contraindications, equipment, anatomy, step-by-step description of technique, complications and clinical pearls. The book will be heavily illustrated and printed in 4/c throughout.

From the reviews:

This monograph is both a textbook and atlas on the subject of lumbar disc disease. This book is meant for neurosurgeons and orthopaedics specialists. I happily recommend it to those audiences exclusively as well as to medical students and residents. (Joseph J. Grenier, Amazon.com, January, 2014)

Spine surgery has evolved significantly over the past 40 years. This book explores the concept further and provides a practical guide. Neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons are the intended readers. This is a good book on the anatomy, basic concepts, and techniques of minimally invasive spine surgery. It should belong to neurosciences libraries and practices involved in spine surgery. (Celso Agner, Doodys Review Service, April, 2010)
