When Ottilie Divine, daughter of the legendary Camille Divine, moves into the famous 221B Baker Street, she never expects her first real investigation to land on her doorstep. Her old school friend Delia Wentworth's husband has gone missing from Westminster, and Ottilie feels compelled to help.

However, the mystery deepens when she encounters her odd but intriguing new neighbour: Sherlock Holmes. Claiming to be a "consulting detective," Holmes offers to help, but Ottilie, initially sceptical of this eccentric young man, prefers to work alone. Yet, as the danger mounts and the shadows of war grow darker, Ottilie is reluctantly drawn to Holmes' sharp intellect...and the assistance of his trusted friend, Dr. Watson.

In this gripping prelude to war, Ottilie finds herself entangled in a web of spies, cryptic letters, and treacherous betrayals, leading her towards a greater conspiracy that threatens not just London but the world itself. Will she allow Holmes and Watson to join her in the fight for truth, or will her independence put her in greater peril?

Perfect for fans of historical thrillers, complex mysteries, and lovers of Sherlock Holmes, Foyle's War, and Agatha Christie, Ottilie Divines War The Diplomat Who Vanished promises a suspenseful journey filled with unexpected twists.

AMAZON REVIEWS ...

Unputdownable. There was absolutely nothing about this book that I did not like. Throw good writing, great characters, good storyline and the amazing Camille into the mix and you are off on the magical cosy mystery tour. Recommended.

'A quick read that keeps you turning the pages..you feel drawn into the era in which it's set...onto the next book.'

A fun page turner that has some dark story lines. Enjoyed reading it, would recommend for a relaxing journey or long flight.

I enjoyed this book as like all the books in this series, it was very well written. I enjoyed the background information about the characters which filled in gaps for me as I had read other books in the series first.

I loved the background information about this period in history. It is shocking to realise how little control women had over their lives in the early twentieth century.

Again, the plot was complex enough to hold the reader's interest without allowing the reader to guess the identity of the murderer. It was also not too far-fetched for it to be believable. All in all, I found it a very satisfying read and I look forward to the next one in the series. A really lovely book set in the 1920's. Camille and her maid plus other acquaintances have the murders of three women and a horse to help the police with. Then there is also a missing ladies maid to be found. Camille has a few obstacles to get past including men who think they know best. I really enjoyed reading this book.

This book was recommended to me on Goodreads but it took me a while before I purchased it. Im glad I did because the story and the writing were so well done that I bought the second book in the series. If you like historical fiction with some mystery of thrown in, this is the book for you. The story, the characters, the scenery it all jumped off the page and made a fun read for me.

This book was very well written with lots of suspense. I like the main characters very much and because of that, I was drawn into the story very quickly. The plot was sufficiently complex so as not to allow the reader to guess who the murder was. It is a cosy mystery which I would challenge anyone to find offensive.
