Can a 1980s arcade game teach us wisdom?  It turns out, it can! 

I took a deep dive into my favorite 1980s arcade game, Millipede, to find the best gaming strategies.  (I'm a gaming nerd, I admit.)  While doing so, I found strikingly similar life strategies that run deep!  So deep, I thought other gaming nerds or fans of the1980s would enjoy reading about them, as well as the 1980s trivia questions and fun facts sprinkled throughout the book.  Because the book teaches wisdom, I decided to name the book millipede philosophy, which in Greek is Philosophia Myriapoda.  

You will marvel at the similarities between the gaming and the adulting strategies.  For instance, cleaning the Growth at the bottom of the display screen teaches about keeping a tidy kitchen in a crazy, busy world. But deeper than that, the book is relevant to today's readers because it teaches us important life lessons on existence, death, love, desire, money, temptation, education, faith, friendship, and so much more!

The book is unique because it is organized by chapter; it starts with a "Game On" chapter, then continues with a chapter on each insect's teachings, and follows with chapters on my additional "Tick Tips", and closes with a "Game Over" chapter.  You will see my very personal examples described as real-life universal scenarios, such as saving a non-profit (nearly broke me by the way) and my tough decision (really agonizing decision) on when to stay at home with my daughter and when to return to work.
