Portraits of Robert Plant: Through the Eighties is a photographic celebration of Robert Plants journey through the eighties, published as a brand-new coffee-table book tracing his career with a mixture of well-known, rare and largely unseen photographs from some of rocks greatest photographers, including George Bodnar who toured extensively with Plant and his band. The book is edited by the world-renowned Led Zeppelin author Dave Lewis who witnessed over 20 Robert Plant live performances during the 1980s and includes a career essay from music journalist Mark Blake, tracking Plants career through the decade. This unofficial book is 230mm square, case-bound, 240 pages, and printed on luxury 170gsm matt-coated paper. The book comes with a fold-out poster and is presented in a black slipcase with a gold foil logo. The main edition comes in 500 numbered copies.

Dave Lewis first heard the music of Led Zeppelin in 1969 at the age of 13. The effect has been a lasting one. He is acknowledged and respected throughout the world as a leading chronicler of the group and its individual members. Dave is the editor and founder of the acclaimed Led Zep magazine Tight But Loose. Established in 1978 it reaches out to fans in over 30 countries. Dave is also the author of a number of books on Led Zeppelin including Led Zeppelin The Final Acclaim, Led Zeppelin In Their Own Words (with Paul Kendall), Led Zeppelin A Celebration, Led Zeppelin Celebration 2- The Tight But Loose Files, Led Zeppelin The Concert File (with Simon Pallett), Then As It Was Led Zeppelin at Knebworth 1979, Feather In The Wind Over Europe 1980 and Led Zeppelin From a Whisper to a Scream. His most recent book is Evenings With Led Zeppelin -The Complete Concert Chronicle. Co-written with renowned Led Zeppelin researcher Mike Tremaglio, it is an exhaustive log of every known Led Zeppelin live appearance. Initially published in 2018 and revised & expanded in a 2021 second edition, it has received plaudits from fans and critics around the world - including the ex-band members themselves. Dave's work has also appeared in Sounds, NME, Record Collector, Q, Mojo, Classic Rock, and Rock Candy. He has also been featured on various TV and radio stations including Planet Rock, BBC Radio Five Live, MTV, VH1 and the series of Classic Rock DVDs focusing individual Zep albums. When Led Zeppelin reformed for one night only at the 02 Arena he was featured on the BBC's six o'clock news bulletin. He was also a consultant on Channel 4's Peter Grant documentary in 1999 and the BBC 2 Robert Plant By Myself documentary in 2010. In 2012, Dave was also interviewed by a variety of radio stations for the release of the Celebration Day film and the subsequent Led Zeppelin re issue series. In 2016, Dave was commissioned to write the liner notes for the official Complete BBC Sessions release for which he liaised with Jimmy Page. Dave was lucky enough to attend 15 Led Zeppelin concerts -at Wembley Empire Pool in 1971, Alexandra Palace in 1972, all five of the Led Zeppelin Earls Court concerts in 1975, five gigs on their final tour over Europe in 1980, and the O2 reunion concert in 2007. He has also attended numerous Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones gigs, and has witnessed Robert Plant live on over 120 occasions. In his role as editor, publisher, freelance journalist and professional Led Zeppelin archivist, Dave continues to chronicle the world of Led Zeppelin and related solo projects via the Tight But Loose website magazine and books. He also has a high profile Facebook page sharing his love of music. He has also written features on The Rolling Stones, The Who, Rod Stewart, Nick Drake, and Paul McCartney. Dave also enjoyed a 35 year career in music retail working for WH Smith and the Our Price and Virgin Megastore shops. He is an avid collector of LPs, singles and CDs, and cites reading music magazines, socialising with friends in the pub, cycling, and following the fortunes of Tottenham Hotspur as his other passions. He lives in Bedford with wife Janet, has two grown-up children - Samantha and Adam - and a grandson Ollie.
