Matt Walls is a freelance wine writer, consultant and author. He is interested in all areas of wine, and is a contributing editor at Decanter magazine. He specialises in the wines of the Rhōne Valley; he is Regional Chair for the Rhōne at the Decanter World Wine Awards, edits the Rhōne entries for the Oxford Companion to Wine and the World Atlas of Wine, and his latest book, Wines of the Rhōne, was shortlisted for the André Simon Food & Drink Book Awards 2022. He is also the founder of events and tour company Rhōne Roots (rhoneroots.com).
