Dettori and Pellettieri explore ancient Greek philology in its early stage. Dettori begins by examining the remnants of scholarship by anonymous pre-Aristarchean interpreters of Homeric glosses, collectively mentioned in ancient sources as the Glossographers. In the second part, Pellettieri considers fragments of the pioneering textual examination (diorthosis) by scholar poet Lycophron of Chalcis of the Attic comedy plays in Alexandria during the early third century BC. Both provide an introductory essay, critical edition, Italian translation, and commentary in Italian. Annotation ©2022 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
