The novel provides an indirect criticism of the rulers and their injustice, as the writer presents a philosophical vision about the importance of justice and concern for the interests of the people. The story is interspersed with fantasy elements taken from Greek mythology, showing love and conflict between gods and humans. Fenelon blends political and social symbolism to present a text rich in meaning, through which he addresses issues related to power, justice, and wisdom.
