Originating in a symposium of the LIHE, the International Academic Association for the Enhancement of Learning in Higher Education, on Aegina Island, Greece, in June 2008, this volume addresses methods for moving from a teaching-centered to a learning-centered attitude towards higher education. Nygaard (CBS Learning Lab, Copenhagen Business School, Denmark) and Holtham (information management, Cass Business School, London, UK) argue that content is emphasized over the learning process and compile 18 chapters by researchers and educators from around the world who discuss both the theory and practice related to the concept of learning, curriculum, and learning, teaching, and assessment processes. They address the role of teachers and universities, improving students' professional preparation, and using an apprentice-like curriculum, communication forums, problem oriented project work, concept mapping, and other methods in a variety of fields.
