This guide supplies teachers with strategies and resources for using technology in all aspects of the curriculum, based on a general model for talent development: the Schoolwide Enrichment Model, which is designed to challenge and meet the needs of high-potential, high-ability, and gifted students while providing challenging learning experiences to all students. It details the theory and practice of this model, background on technology use and understanding students, and technology enhancements for each experience type from the model. he Schoolwide Enrichment ModelTechnology is an extension of a talent development model implemented in more than 2,500 schools across the U.S. and widely used internationally. More than 40 years of research and development has documented the effectiveness of the SEM approach to promoting higher level thinking skills and creative productivity. This solution-oriented book, unlike other books focused on using technology in the classroom, recognizes that digital technologies are changing and evolving at lightning speeds. Our effective skills for using technology transcend time by focusing on how to find and use digital resources and tools rather than listing the resources that already exist. Focusing on the skills that support critical thinking and problem solving, decision-making, and communication, the authors seamlessly merge technology to launch students toward independent productivity. This accessible and highly practical guide is rich with examples that will change the way you think about education while providing hands-on "how-to" guidance for creating a culture of excellence and innovation in your school and classroom.

Recenzijos

The use of technology outlined here incorporates skills and processes, analysis, presentation, and critical and creative thinking in a way I have not seen in how to teach with technology books . . . [ T]he content is absolutely solid. I would recommend this book for every teacher . . .,Rebecca Bell,NSTA Recommends, 1/3/17 I appreciate the multi-faceted look at technology in the classroomwe must think about how we're using technology, not just if we're using it. This book pushes the use of websites, apps, and devices beyond mere electronic worksheets into enriching experiences and provides some great scaffolds to get you there.,Ian Byrd,Byrdseed.com, 1/1/17 Along with addressing the need for attention to digital technology, this book focuses on strategies that help develop critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, and communication - all skills that students need to experience success and fulfillment in life. For teachers who desire to expand the use of technology in the classroom as well as allow for independent productivity from students, this is a resource to explore. ,Gifted Child Today, 10/1/17
