Frustrated reporter Campbell Babbitt (Coogan) is sent to cover the launch of the Challenger space shuttle and finds a whole other story in a group of traumatized local high school students, all of whom are touched by the launch's tragic aftermath.
While on assignment in a small New Hampshire town, jaded journalist Campbell Babbitt befriends a group of misfit teenagers, changing his and their lives forever.
