Wings of a Butterfly explores young love. The novel is told in parallel time with two converging love stories depicted through the emblematic butterfly. The first is the omniscient narrators love for Marisa, and the second is avant-gardist Aunt Iriss love for Uncle John. Four distinctive characters mesh and collide to create a tale of love, truth, unforeseen betrayal and adversity. Our omniscient narrator has been obsessed with Marisa since they first met as children, hankering for her lifelong friends acceptance but only finds comfort and consolation in Uncle John, who later falls madly in love with free-spirited Aunt Iris. The novel rides on the power of new journeys, facing painful emotions as a result of tragedy and heartache.
Sue Morris was brought up in London where she still lives and works. She enjoyed an early career as a successful artist, which was followed by a teaching career spanning over thirty years, teaching English as an advisory consultant. In 2015, she built an esteemed tutoring service. She has now stepped back to dedicate more time to writing. Art and Education permeate throughout her writing, forming integral motifs. Sues debut novel, Anna Gallos Lily was published in 2024.
